Lalaloopsy Shoppe Recipes!

Hello dear readers or first time fans. This entry will not be a review, but a listing of four, sweet, cute, Lalaloopy recipes that one can locate on the official Lalaloopsy website under the tabs listed "shoppe", under the PLAY tab.

So with that said, lets begin!

Whirly Swirly Marble Cake

Ingredients
  • 2 cups of all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 1/2 cup of softened butter
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 teaspoons unsweetened cocoa powder
Directions
  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and flour a 9 inch pan.
  2. Place flour, baking powder, salt, sugar, butter/margarine, eggs, vanilla, and milk into a mixing bowl. Beat slowly to moisten, then beat with an electric mixer at medium speed for about 2 minutes until smooth. Reserve 3/4 cup batter and pour the remainer into pan.
  3. Stir cocoa into the 3/4 cup reserved batter. Drop by spoonfuls over top of the white batter. Using a knife, swirl the cocoa batter into the white batter to incorporate it in a marble effect.
  4. Bake in preheated oven for 30 to 35 minutes until an inserted wooden pick comes out clean.

Frost 'n' Glazed Sugar Cookies

Ingredients
  • 3 cups powdered sugar
  • 2 cups softened butter/margarine
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 1 teaspoon almond extract
  • 2 eggs
  • 5 cups of all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 2 teaspoons cream of tartar decorators glaze
  • 4 cups powdered sugar
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1/4 cup light corn syrup
  • 1 teaspoon almond extract
Directions
  1.  In a large bowl beat 3 cups powdered sugar, butter, vanilla, 1 teaspoon almond extract and eggs with electric mixer on medium speed, or mix with spoon. Stir in flour, baking soda and cream of tartar. Cover, and refrigerate at least 2 hours.
  2. Heat oven to 375 F. Lightly grease cookie sheet and divide the dough in half. On lightly floured surface, roll each half 1/8 inch thick. Cut into desired shapes with 3-inch cookie cutters and place about 2 inches apart on cookie sheet.
  3. Bake 5 to 7 minutes or until edges turn light brown. Remove from cookie sheet to wire rack. Cool completely, which would be about 30 minutes.
  4. In a small bowl, beat all glaze ingredients except food colors on low speed until smooth. Divide among several small bowls, then stir in desired food color, one drop at a time, into each until the desired color. Decorate cookies with glaze and other decorations as desired.

Light 'n' Fluffy Meringues

Recipe
  • 3 egg whites
  • 3/4 cups sugar
Directions
  1.  Pre-heat oven to 225 degrees F
  2. Beat egg whites with electric mixer at medium speed until stiff but not air dry.
  3. Gradually add sugar while mixing at high speed until mixture forms peaks.
  4. Grease or spray a large cookie sheet. Put teaspoon-sized amounts of batter onto the sheet, placing them about 2 inches apart.
  5. Place in pre-heated oven on the middle rack. Bake for 30 minutes, then check to see if the center of the cookie is dry for done-ness. Be careful not to let meringues brown.
  6. If dry, remove from the oven and bang the sheet against something carefully. If done right the cookies should jump from the sheet!

  6. Leave the donuts in the pan for a few minutes, then remove them and place on a cooling rack.
